FIVE Step Procedure for Registering as an Approved Supplier
The five step procedure required for becoming an approved supplier of Wild American Shrimp is outlined below. Click on the Quick Link “Become an Approved Supplier!” for more a detailed guide to this process.
1)Establishing a User Name**
Prospective member accesses the certifiedshrimp.com website and establishes a user name and password. Once that is established WASI activates a menu to enable the user to access the application questionnaire.
2)Application Questionaire**
Once the applicant has received the password they once again access the certifiedshrimp site to complete the application questionnaire. The questionnaire is used to determine the applicants training needs and provides information that, once approved, will be online for potential customers to view when looking to purchase Certified Wild American® Shrimp.
3)Agreement Approval**
Following a review by WASI of the questionnaire the prospective member will be advised that they have access to the Wild American® Shrimp, Inc.agreement. They are prompted by e mail to return to the site to review the agreement and indicate their agreement to comply with WASI standards.
4)Initial Audit
Prior to commencing with full participation in the program the applicant will be required to successfully complete a basic systems audit. WASI will schedule the audit to be completed at the facility by a third party.
5) Training
Having successfully completed the audit, the personnel designated to evaluate product will be provided registration forms. Once registered, the personnel designated to evaluate product will be scheduled to attend training.

ABC Laboratories of Gainesville, Fla. recently released a study that investigated the nutritional profile of U.S. wild-caught pink, white and brown shrimp, and pond-raised Indonesian white, Thai white and Vietnamese tiger shrimp. The results reveal unique nutritional points of differentiation in the wild-caught shrimp.
KEY STUDY FINDINGS
•Vitamin B12 - A three-ounce serving of Wild American® Shrimp delivers up to 19 percent more of the recommended daily intake (RDI) for vitamin B12 than the imported pond-raised shrimp that were tested. The Certified Wild American® Shrimp "Brown" species provided the highest amount of the key nutrient delivering 38 percent RDI in a three-ounce serving.
•Certified Wild American® Shrimp had statistically significant levels of key nutrients that were higher than the imported varieties, which included Omega 3, protein, calcium and iron.
•Certified Wild American® Pink and White shrimp varieties have significantly lower amounts of sodium, particularly the white variety.
